A lesson on grace from a brother
I’m reading a book called “The Ragamuffin Gospel”. So far it is really doing a number on what I thought I knew. And so far I’m realizing that I know nothing. As humbling as it is I know this is a must read for me and for so many others that claim they understand the grace of god. We are human not god and every so often we need to be reminded of that on our own merit and every so often we need god to lovingly tell us that it’s okay.
Below is a quote from the first chapter that stuck with me. I’m sure there will be more to follow.
“When I get honest, I admit I am a bundle of paradoxes. I believe and I doubt, I hope and get discouraged, I love and I hate, I feel bad about feeling good, I feel guilty about not feeling guilty. I am trusting and suspicious. I am honest and I still play games. Aristotle said I am a rational animal; I say I am an angel with an incredible capacity for beer.” – Brennan Manning, “The Ragamuffin Gospel”.
